So I wish I had some perfect story, party or scenario for how these Mustache Cake Pops came to be.
But I don’t. More like I happened to be making cherry cake pops which kind of look exactly like big red clown noses, and I happened to come across the chocolate mustache mold that I purchased a year ago, kind of sort of forgot about and never used. I put them together. The end. See, no cool story for these, though I’m sure my creative kiddo could make one up if it would help. But how fun are these?
To make these I used my Babycakes Flip-Over Cake Pop Maker to make cherry cake pops (enter to win your own cake pop maker & cake mix over here)…
While those were cooling, I made some chocolate mustaches, but did NOT put them on the sticks.
I stuck those in the freezer to set up and dipped my cake pops in red chocolate coating. After the mustaches were done, I pulled them out, laid them on my baking sheet, sat the cake pops on top of them and added on a bunch more chocolate coating to glue those babies together.
Then back into the freezer to set up. That’s it. Pretty simple.
Fun stuff! If my daughter was any indication, these would be a huge, awesome, “mom you are so cool” hit with kids.
You can find the chocolate mustache mold that I used right here. Don’t forget to head here to enter to win your own Babycakes Flip Over Cake Pop Maker (and a cherry cake pop mix as well!).
