While shopping this weekend there was no denying that the holidays are here. Christmas music is playing in the stores, trees are up, and I kind of love all of it. Until I stop and think about my gift list and how I always struggle to come up with gift ideas for half the people on my list. I typically procrastinate those until the very last minute and then panic (bad idea!), but this year I’m trying to tackle those gifts first. Today I’m sharing a really easy gift idea that almost anyone you know, from teachers to neighbors to friends, would love to receive.

I picked up a bag of the Dunkin’ Donuts®Chocolate Glazed Donut Coffee to use in my brownies that I put in this gift basket. If you’ve never added coffee to your chocolate dessert recipes, you must try it. While it doesn’t create an overly coffee like flavor, it gives a really rich deep and delicious flavor to the chocolate. It’s one of my favorite tricks for turning a box cake mix or brownie mix into something really delicious. While this recipe will work with any coffee, I think the Chocolate Glazed Donut flavor is pretty darn perfect!
For my gift basket I picked two bags of Dunkin’ Donuts® Coffee fro their Bakery Series®. There are a lot of great flavors to pick from, including Chocolate Glazed Donut, Cinnamon Bun, Caramel Coffee Cake and Old Fashioned Donut. There were also some really yummy seasonal varieties including White Chocolate Peppermint from their seasonal options. To that I added a coffee mug and a half dozen of my homemade brownies.
If you are in a time pinch, you could always leave the brownies out, or grab some brownies from the bakery while you are picking up your other items. A smaller gift option would be a single bag of coffee and coffee mug, or a single bag of coffee and a brownie. If you need a gift for quite a few people, maybe the front office of your school or doctor’s office, you could put in a few more bags of coffee, two batches of brownies and maybe some paper coffee mugs. I love that you can make this work in so many ways, and you can grab everything you need right in Walmart.
Coffee Brownies And Easy Gift Ideas
Ingredients
- 1 store bought brownie mix or your favorite brownie recipe that calls for water as an ingredient
- in Brewed and cooled Dunkin Donuts Coffee flavor of your choice in the same amount as the water called for on your brownie mix or brownie recipe
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Dash of cinnamon
Instructions
- This recipe is so simple! Follow the directions on your box mix or brownie recipe, but replace the water called for with brewed, cooled coffee. You are just swapping the coffee for water. Add a dash of cinnamon to the brownie mix, or dry ingredients, just prior to mixing in your liquid ingredients. Finish by adding a cup of chocolate chips to the mix. For baking, follow the directions on the box or in your recipe.
