How To Make M&M Christmas Pretzels
Ingredients
- Mini pretzel twists: You could also use the square snaps pretzels instead.
- Dark chocolate Hershey’s Kisses: Any type of Hershey’s kisses can work for this. You could also switch this up and use Rolo candies. I love the extra caramel!
- Red and green caramel filled M&Ms: More and more caramel! Yes please! However, you can use regular M&Ms, or change it up and use peanut butter M&Ms, or peanut M&Ms.
- Christmas sprinkles: Nonpareils work well as they are small and lightweight.
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and line a quarter or half sheet pan with parchment paper, optional.
- Lay 48 mini pretzel twists on the sheet pan and top each pretzel with a dark chocolate Hershey’s kiss.
- Bake in the oven for 4-6 minutes. Chocolate should be soft but not melted. Remove immediately but carefully since pretzels will shift easily.
- Press one caramel M&M onto the center of each kiss and then add sprinkles, optional. Allow pretzels and pan to cool for approximately 3 minutes.
- Place the sheet pan in the freezer to chill for 20 minutes or until firmly set.
- Serve up to your guests as fun little snacks.
Storage
Store these Christmas pretzels at room temperature in an airtight container for up to one week. If they aren’t in an airtight container they will still be good, but the pretzels will get a bit stale. They can be stored for even longer in the refrigerator, for up to two weeks. You can also keep them in the freezer for little frozen bites for three months!
Tips and Advice
- Get your kids to help you unwrap all those little Hershey’s kisses and pick out all the red and green M&Ms!
- You don’t have to make only 48 bites! Unwrap the whole package and make as many bites as you have kisses!
- Be very careful not to over soften those kisses while in the oven. Look for a little bit of droop on the tip of the kiss, but that droop should not fall.
- Since you will need to pick out the green and red caramel M&Ms if doing this around Christmastime, make sure you do that before softening the chocolate in the oven, otherwise the chocolate will set too fast.
- You can make this recipe all year around so you can use any color of M&Ms.
- Feel free to let this set at room temperature instead of in the freezer. Give it about an hour if you choose to do that.
