I am not, in any way, organized by nature. I struggle (really struggle) to stay on top of things. My oldest daughter has such a busy schedule as well as a very demanding academic load, and she is her mother’s daughter – organizationally challenged as well. We are trying to come up with new ways to stay on top of things, especially with school. I came across an old 11×14 frame that had been sitting in a closet for years. Well a little spray paint, a printable and a dry erase marker and we now have a memo board to try and keep track of things.
We hung this right by the door to our garage, by the little nook where my daughter keeps her backpack and school papers. I can’t believe that I went my entire life without realizing that you can use dry erase markers on glass. Hello – it’s like a whole new world of options! Print something cute out (or just use cute paper or fabric), stick it in a frame and write away. So we made this printable (it’s 11×14 ($2.99 at Costco) but if you send to a photo lab you should be able to print it as an 8×10 as well) and stuck it in a frame I quickly spray painted with Krylon Blue Ocean Breeze Glossy Spray Paint. In my new quest to actually do projects, versus have perfect projects, all this frame got was a quick wipe down with alcohol and then two coats of paint. Done. If you would like a copy of this printable, head over to the free printable page. I have a pastel (the one I used) and a primary, both in 11×14 and 8×10 sizes.
I also added a simple rack of hooks for my keys, sunglasses and a dry erase marker. Granted, I have to remember to hang those items there, but it’s a process. 🙂
